Neighbors For Hoan

Hoan has a long history of working with the community.

Here’s what some of your neighbors have to say about him.

Hoan and I worked together for several years on gun violence prevention efforts in Chicago. He has always made sure that we listen to the needs of our communities and address these challenges holistically with community members. I know he’ll continue to lead the fight to end gun violence and protect our kids and families at the state legislative level.

Hoan really helped me during the pandemic. When we weren’t sure if our business could survive due to anti-Asian hate, Hoan and his fellow organizers created a community initiative to highlight my restaurant and get customers to order take-out. He also volunteered his time to help us translate and submit applications for federal grants! Without his support, we would not have remained open!
Loan Nguyen
Restaurant Owner
Hoan really cares about his neighbors. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he led mutual aid efforts to get families in our neighborhoods the resources to survive: food boxes, hand sanitizer, personal protection equipment, diapers, and other items. He gets things done!

Service Industry Professional
Hoan serves on several nonprofit boards in our communities to fight for LGBTQ+ youth and women experiencing homelessness, immigrant and refugee kids, and kids from low-income backgrounds. As a refugee, he knows what it’s like to come from nothing, and he fights for those who have been left behind. He’ll be a champion for our working and middle-class families, and children in the State House!
